Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week

  • Flexible shift options: Tuesday – Saturday or Sunday – Thursday

  • One weekend day required


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assign appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes for outpatient ancillary services

  • Analyze and correct CCI and Medical Necessity Edits

  • Understand Medicare APC codes and abstract additional data when needed

  • Ensure coding quality and productivity standards are met

  • Provide documentation feedback and physician queries as necessary

  • Stay current with industry updates and internal coding resources

  • Participate in departmental meetings and maintain record of coded/missing charts

  • Support additional responsibilities as assigned


Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

  • Professional coding certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC (e.g., CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A)

  • 2+ years of outpatient facility coding experience

  • 2+ years of ICD-10 coding experience

  • Proficient with PC and Windows environment, including EMR systems

  • Ability to work the specified 40-hour weekly schedule with 1 weekend day


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with encoder systems: eCAC, 3M, EPIC

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with OSHPD reporting

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage: $16.88 – $33.22 (based on experience and qualifications)
