Medical Science Liaison (MSL)
Location: On Premise | Travel Required (Up to 90%)

Role Overview:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) acts as an ambassador and advocate for Pfizer science within the healthcare community. Equipped with advanced scientific training, the MSL is well-positioned to provide healthcare professionals (HCPs) and researchers with unbiased, scientific, and therapeutic information, fostering meaningful discussions around Pfizer products in clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • External Expert Engagement:

    • Collaborate with the Medical Lead to develop and implement a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement plan.
    • Establish relationships with regional and national thought leaders to provide unbiased, scientifically rigorous information.
    • Engage in professional discussions with healthcare providers regarding product profiles in compliance with approved prescribing information.
  • Knowledge Acquisition and Sharing:

    • Gather medical insights and trends from regular field interactions and share with Medical Affairs and cross-functional teams.
    • Attend key national and regional scientific meetings, advisory boards, and provide insights to the team.
    • Continuously update knowledge of the therapeutic area, pre-marketed and approved products, and competitors.
  • Knowledge Translation and Medical Education:

    • Deliver non-promotional, approved scientific content during engagements with KOLs, HCPs, and other stakeholders.
    • Identify opportunities for speakers and medical education events that align with Pfizer's strategy.
    • Assist in the development of educational programs, including speaker training and content creation for learning activities.
  • Clinical Research Support:

    • Develop an understanding of KOLs’ capabilities regarding clinical trials and engage with them regarding Investigator Initiated Research (IIR) and Collaborative Research (CR) proposals.
    • Encourage the publication of IIR/CR studies and ensure compliance with Pfizer policies and regulations.
  • Medical Governance:

    • Ensure all activities adhere to Pfizer's Medical Governance framework and comply with global and local SOPs.
    • Uphold the Corporate Code of Ethics in all interactions and activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD, MBBS), Pharmacy Degree, PhD, or a Master’s in health sciences (required).
  • Up to 90% travel within assigned geography.
  • Proficiency in using electronic communication tools for field-based work.
  • Knowledge of clinical research methodology and solid scientific and clinical judgment.
